Gyro Tech®’s Acugard 3 LE Provides Added Protection
for Low Energy Swing Doors

MUSKEGO, WISCONSIN NABCO Entrances has added a new door mounted sensor for low energy doors to its Acugard line of swing door sensors. The NABCO Acugard 3 LE has been designed as an affordable way to add extra pedestrian protection to low energy swing doors. The Acugard 3 LE is a bar type sensor that can be mounted on the approach side of the door to prevent it from closing on slower moving traffic, such as the elderly or handicapped, until they are through the entrance and completely out of the path of the door. The Acugard 3 LE can also be mounted on the swing side to stop the door from opening in the event that someone is in the swing path while a pedestrian is approaching.

In response to the needs of the marketplace, the Acugard 3 LE handles AC or DC power sources allowing seamless interface with Gyro Tech’s low energy, ADA GT 710 and GT 500 swing doors and the low energy equipment of other manufacturers. Multiple time delay settings allow installers to adjust for the varying requirements of the application such as hold open time. The detection pattern depth is also adjustable and allows optimization of door performance. The Acugard 3 LE enhances the performance of low energy doors making them more user-friendly while exceeding the ANSI/BHMA standard for safety.

The Acugard 3 System for full power doors is also available consisting of two Acugard 3 door mounted sensors, and one header mounted Acumotion A sensor. Other sensors are available from NABCO including the Acuvision Learning Sensor System, the Acumotion A Microwave/Infrared Hybrid Sensor and the versatile Acusensor 1B for slide, swing or folding doors.

When mounted on the approach side, Acugard 3 LE utilizes a focused infrared pattern that detects both moving and stationary objects.
