Activating Devices: Acuwave Touchless Slide Door Sensor

The Acuwave “Touchless” sensor is a header-mounted sensor that was developed to respond to a voluntary hand motion within the detection area. By using the reflected light of an active infrared beam, the Acuwave will detect your hand approaching the “Wave Hand Here to Open Door” sticker and activate the door.

In stand-by mode, presence detection is reduced to a small area in front of the sticker to prevent unnecessary activation or opening cycles. When a pedestrian waves his or her hand in front of the “Wave Hand Here to Open Door” sticker, the door will open. While the door is open, the Acuwave increases its presence detection area to reverse door closing action if another pedestrian enters the detection area.

The Acuwave is the perfect sensor for heavy pedestrian-cross traffic areas such as sidewalks or hallways and for “hands-free” environments like restrooms, healthcare facilities and clean rooms. The Acuwave will help prevent unnecessary door opening cycles, keeping conditioned air inside your facility and saving energy.

Features

  • Best choice for hands-free environments

  • Small 6" diameter detection area in stand-by mode eliminates
  • unnecessary activation

  • Large detection area in activation mode reverses door closing action if another pedestrian approaches

  • Advanced detection abilities with infrared learning technology for continuous presence detection throughout the door opening and closing cycle

  • Unique ability to react to moving objects while excluding the door

  • Rectangular sensing pattern for superior coverage around the door

  • Works with non-microprocessor based controls so it can be used on older existing equipment

  • Compatible with both 12-24 VAC or DC power sources allowing seamless interface with all GyroTech equipment and the equipment of other manufacturers

  • Mutual interference channels allow for installation of multiple sensors side by side

  • Three levels of sensitivity

  • Excellent performance in adverse weather conditions

  • Easy to install and adjust
